Welcome to SWAA!
The Southwest Washington Agency on Aging is part of the national
network of Area Agencies on Aging, a non-profit
service agency dedicated to helping individuals access needed
community services in Clark, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Klickitat and
Skamania counties. Access to services is through Senior Information & Assistance
offices in Vancouver, Kelso, Goldendale, Stevenson, and White Salmon.
The Southwest Washington Agency on Aging administers medicaid in-home
services, non-medicaid, and other community services within the five
county area. These services empower seniors and persons with disabilities
with the resources necessary to remain in their own homes.
The Southwest Washington Agency on Aging Advisory Council (SWAAAC)
assists the agency in fulfilling its mission. The Council identifies
needs of seniors and adults with disabilities in our communities.
It advises on services to meet these needs and advocates for programs
that improve the quality of life of these populations. In addition to planning services, managing funds, and ensuring quality
service, the Southwest Washington Agency on Aging also advocates
with policy makers and other social service agencies for an efficient
and effective system of long-term care services, both in-home and
residential. The Southwest Washington Agency on Aging is sponsored by
The
Human Services Council.
