About the Human Services Council

We are committed to working in collaboration with other organizations, agencies, and businesses in order to improve the quality of life in Southwest Washington.

Because our programs are effective and fiscally accountable, we receive foundation and corporate support, as well as government funds.

Human Services Council Brief History

1946 Clark County Council of Community Agencies
1959 Committee on Aging formed
1966 Name changed to Health and Welfare Planning Council (HWPC)
First director hired as well as one clerk
1989 Medical Transportation program added
1990 Name changed to Human Services Council
1992 Moved to Hazel Dell Office
1995 Medicaid contracting services and case management
Kelso office opened
2003 Interpreter Services program began
2004 Employment Transportation program began
